Update from Mr Day - 22/01/2021

Dear Parents/Carers,

Firstly, I hope you and your families are remaining safe and well. As a school, our thoughts and best wishes are for all members of the community who have been affected at the present time. If there is any further support we can give, please do not hesitate to contact the school.

Google Meet registration sessions

We understand how difficult assisting remote learning can be, especially if you are not a teacher, and we appreciate all of your support so far. In order to help you in supporting students access and engage in their learning, a reminder that we will be running some registration sessions next week. Students should log into the following to ensure they are registered:

- Form time each day with their tutor at 8.40 am to 8.55 am

- Period 5 each day with their period 5 teacher at 1.45 pm

We will be contacting parents where a student is absent so we can work together to help the students fully engage. If there is any issue with the ability to attend, whether this is due to a device or other means, please do not hesitate to contact the school office and we will endeavour to support you as quickly as possible

Year 9, 10 and 11 Parent consultations

All parents and carers should be receiving the summary reports for Years 9, 10 and 11 in the post in the next few days (The Year 11 report is slightly different due to the current examination consultations by the Department of Education and Ofqual). Over the course of the next two weeks, as part of their form tutor calls, staff will be ringing to discuss these reports and any areas of success and concern which you or we have. If you would like any more specific information from an individual class teacher, please pass this on during these calls and they will contact you.

I would like to thank you all for continued support for students and for assisting in their engagement in remote learning, This is a new way of teaching and learning for all and our staff are developing in this area all of the time. Although we hope students will be attending school in full again soon, as we would all agree this is best for their education, if you have any questions or require any support in the interim period, please do not hesitate to contact us.

I wish you all a safe and restful weekend.

Best wishes,

David Day
