Update from Boudica Schools Trust CEO re: Sewell Park Academy

March 24, 2020

 Dear Parent/Carer

In order to continue to provide you with childcare to fulfil your key worker role, it is vital that we maintain sufficient levels of staffing. We can only do that in the longer term if we continually look for ways to It is minimise staff exposure to risk of infection.

In light of that requirement, as of 4pm today, the following changes are being made to our provision

  • Sewell Park Academy will be closed and childcare provision for Sewell Park pupils will be provided at Sprowston Community Academy

  • We will no longer be offering childcare where there is a parent in a household who is not a key worker

  • In the event that individual children/young people's behaviour becomes unmanageable/unsafe we may withdraw the offer of childcare to that child/young person

We appreciate that this is more change on top of significant previous change. However, it has become clear over the past 24 hours that we simply cannot maintain safe and appropriate services across every school site. This is a picture mirrored locally and nationally and as things develop further, we envisage that provision may need to change again, with childcare potentially being provided on the basis of geographical location (clusters), which will bring multiple schools together.

Boudica Schools Trust remains committed to supporting you to carry out your vital role in the fight against Covid-19 and we greatly appreciate your patience, understanding and flexibility as we shape our services to this ever-changing and unprecedented challenge.

kind regards
