Over the last few months, our Year 9 Performing Arts group have been working on their performance of Aladdin. The production has supported them with their understanding of how theatre practitioners work together to prepare and rehearse a performance from page to stage!
Leo Ramsbottom, in the role of Abanazar, and Twyla Grand, in the role of Widow Twanky, were superb in capturing the personalities of their characters along with Mollie Brooke Mellor, Kinga Kierska, Annie Visoka and Kazi Rahman who completely fulfilled their roles!
All of the students have worked incredibly hard to make the show a success and their hard work paid off with two awesome performances on Wednesday the 10th of July.
One of these performances was to the Year 2 and 3 pupils from Magdalen Gates Primary School and their Headteacher, Mrs Fahy, reported back that pupils and staff were impressed with the performance. Some of the characters had them crying with laughter, and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves and their visit to Sewell Park Academy.
The second performance was to parents, friends and teachers. Mrs Bignell said "A truly impressive performance with some outstanding characters, particularly Twyla as Widow Twanky and Leo Ramsbottom as 'Have a Banana'!! An enjoyable evening demonstrating the students perseverance and commitment to succeed."
I am incredibly proud of the students who should in turn feel massively proud of themselves! Well done to you all!
