A successful Spring Fair for our Business Students!

March 9, 2018

On Thursday 8th March, we held our annual Spring Trade Fair - organised by our business students, along with the help of Mrs Gibson and Mr Day.

On arrival at the main hall early in the day, I was extremely impressed to see an array of innovative and appealing gifts for sale as well as mouth-watering baked items.

We also had a group of Year 11 students with their own car wash for teachers!

The stalls included 'Six Faced' selling beautiful handmade dreamcatchers; 'Bon Bon Express', whose jars of sweets were a huge hit with everyone; 'C&E Food Stall' with a range of delicious scones, flapjacks and cakes as well as a raffle; 'Fifth Scents' and 'Violet' - both selling candles, and many more exceptional items!

There were also some activities and games to play, such as the very popular Lucky Dip!

During the morning, some Year 4 students from Magdalen Gates Primary joined us to do a little shopping and get involved in activities - it looked like everyone was really enjoying themselves.

I spoke to a couple of the students before they left.

Alexa's favourite stall was the one where she was able to use craft goodies to make her own Mother's Day card. She also bought a candle and a bag of cookie mix to make at home. "I had a really great time!" she said.

Joe played Lucky Dip and got a musical toy prize, and also bought a candle and some of the sweet jars, with that stall being his favourite. "I had the most amazing day! I loved it!" he commented.

We had invited our own SPA students along during break time, as well as year 7 during period 3 and year 8 during period 4, with the intention of having parents attend after school.

Due to overwhelming success and selling out of everything extremely early in the day, the parents session had to be cancelled - but of course this was good news for the business students that had worked so hard on their ideas!

We'll have prizes to give to the students whose stalls won 'Best Customer Service', 'Best Team Work', 'Most Viable Product' and 'Best Stall Presentation' - although they haven't been announced just yet, so for now the details are under wraps!

Well done to everyone involved - another great event to make us so proud of our students and staff.
