Dear Parent/Carer

Following the sad passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, we want to reassure you that

we will be marking her death and celebrating her life across all of our schools during the

period of national mourning.

We appreciate that events like this can impact children and young people either through a

direct sense of loss of a significant figure, or indirectly through triggering memories of other

experiences of bereavement. Given that, we will ensure that support is available in each

school to provide comfort and reassurance to any child/young person who needs it.

Our schools will remain open as usual throughout this period. However, the event of the

Queen’s funeral will be designated as a Public Holiday and as such, schools will be closed

on that day.
