Learning from Home
Remote learning will continue from 22nd February until a return to school is announced. Our provision remains a combination of teacher instruction of new material, linked remote learning provision and a review/feedback on the work covered. This will be the provision for each year group.
We will still have an assembly for all year groups on a Monday, tutor time with an activity on a Wednesday and on Friday of week B there will be year group specific assemblies. All of these will be at 2.45pm and links will be emailed to students in advance. View the Spring 2 calendar for each weekly topic plus Habitus, SMSC and British Value focus. All of this information will also be on the ethos sheet in the student portal.
If a student has any issues with logins or access to remote learning, parents or students must request help by completing the
IT Support form. A member of the team will get back to you as quickly as they can and we appreciate your patience whilst there is a high volume of enquiries through this channel.
Students can now access their lesson timetable via an app, which is available to download for free from the Apple Store and Google Play, here's a quick YouTube tutorial on how to do this.
There will be opportunities for students to have 'live lessons' which will be communicated via Google Classrooms. There will also be recorded content and assessment of the learning which students can complete at a time that is suitable for them, rather than the fixed time of the live lessons. Finally, there is content available on the remote learning hub for each year group where there is independent work available for the lessons students are missing in school. Students will receive the same amount of hours that they would do in school via the remote learning hub, as well as additional content in Google Classrooms with assignments and interactions with their class teacher.
